Red-tail is pleased to announce the appointment of our newest board member, Dr. Delano “Blake” Janutolo. A longstanding supporter of Red-tail, Blake is an outstanding educator, mycology researcher, and community volunteer.
Back in 2004, Blake attended an event at a Red-tail protected site. He learned about Red-tail’s mission and has been a supporting the organization ever since. As a science educator, Blake is dedicated to the conservation of our natural world for the betterment of future generations.
He currently chairs the Biology department at Anderson University and is the former Dean of the College of Science and Humanities. Blake has served on the Academic Council for the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies and as the national secretary of the National Council of Alpha Chi, a junior/senior national honorary society. He is secretary of the Anderson Tree Commission and is active in the Indiana Academy of Science.
Blake is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie, Indiana, the Anderson Children’s Choir, and an active member and the treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of West Anderson.
With such a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to the environment, Blake will be an incredible asset to the Red-tail Board. He is determined to bring fresh ideas and insight to Red-tail while furthering our mission of preserving, protecting, and restoring our natural heritage in east-central Indiana.
