The food and shelter trees provide to hundreds of species of wildlife make forests critical to a healthy landscape. Help Red-tail Land Conservancy restore a dormant field back into a vibrant wetland forest on Saturday, April 17 from 10am-12pm at our family-friendly Spring Tree Planting in Reber Woods. You can be a habitat hero!
To maintain safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, this event is designed to support social distancing. Masks will be worn at all times and tool-sharing is limited to volunteers that arrived as a group. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:
Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Please wear pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes that you do not mind getting muddy. You must bring your own work gloves, face mask, and shovel. Tools can be shared within groups that arrived together.
PARKING & DIRECTIONS:
Reber Woods is located in Muncie on N. Morrison Road. Because it is undergoing restoration work, it has no on-site parking or drop-off location.
Trinity Baptist Church (5000 N. Morrison Rd) has generously allowed volunteers for this event to park in their lot and use their restroom. Click HERE for driving directions. From the parking lot, there is a 100 yard walk to the planting site. Signs will mark a path from parking to the tree planting site.
If this event is postponed due to rain, participants will be notified via email. The rain date and more information will also be posted on this webpage.
